Speaking from personal experience as someone with over 3 million airline miles and a need to watch what kinds of food I put into my body, traveling when you are on a special diet can be – dare I say – tasteless. But it doesn’t have to be, and at The Fairview we think we have solved that culinary conundrum quite tastefully.

What’s more important in a hotel, Breakfast or the Bed?
If “Breakfast” is the longest word in “Bed & Breakfast” does that mean that the hotel breakfast served at a B&B is more important than the “Bed”? It really all depends on “what you stay for.”
Remodeling our Historic Home is messy work!
As we go through the process of remodeling our historic home to turn it back into a Bed and Breakfast, replacing the roof seems like the messiest and noisiest job of all. Every roofing job is messy and the noise is constant, but when you’re removing original cedar shake shingles plus 3 layers of composite shingles on top of them – well, let’s just say it’s more than any of us planned for.

For several years before we purchased it, Duke and Nancy Waggoner operated The Fairview Bed & Breakfast in the Travis Heights neighborhood in Austin, Texas. Now, after making The Fairview our family home for the past 14 years, we’re going to reopen it as a Bed & Breakfast Hotel.
