Guide to Austin | South Congress
Austin is a fun, diverse, and oh so interesting city to visit. Sometimes, though, the biggest challenge our guests have is deciding where to go and what to do – especially if they only have a limited time to stay with us. In this, one of several Guide to Austin posts, we focus on South Congress.

It’s not often that we get to visit a completely new place in our South Congress neighborhood, especially one so green and delicious as the Vinaigrette salad bar restaurant. If you are in the mood for some light, healthy, and high quality farm to table dining, we can highly recommend Vinaigrette.
3 Must-Haves for Business Travelers
Business Travelers
Having opened The Fairview B&B in Austin Texas just last September I am a relative newcomer to B&B management. However, I do have over 3 million lifetime miles on American Airlines alone so perhaps my personal experience gives me some insight into today’s business travelers needs. Here are 3 must-haves that Bed & Breakfasts need to offer to entice more business travelers.

Our Guests are All Over the Map
All Over the Map!
Wow! How time flies when you’re having fun. We simply cannot believe that we’ve been open for two months already. (Actually, as I’m writing this it’s been 9 weeks, 6 days, plus a handfull of hours – but who’s counting?) In that time we’ve served a whole bunch of tasty breakfasts, hosted one wedding, played with a few babies, and met the most interesting people.

Extra Fees? Not at The Fairview.
Extra fees for extra service? That’s not how we do things at The Fairview.
Visited any coffee shops lately? I bet they offered WiFi for no extra charge, that is other than the couple of bucks you paid for your coffee. Want to add a little sugar or honey? No extra fees for that either. Some hotels these days seem to take a different approach with the current trend at many being to tack on a lot of extra fees. I don’t know about you, but we don’t think that’s a very hospitable way to treat our guests.
Like your favorite coffee shop, at The Fairview we provide a lot of “extras” with no extra charge.
