Under the leadership of Executive Director Matt Hinsley, Austin Classical Guitar is widely recognized for its outstanding support of classical guitar music and its ability to attract some of the leading classical guitarists of today to perform in Austin.
In 2001 ACG began working with Austin schools to elevate school-based guitar teaching quality to the same levels as established programs like choir, orchestra, and band. Now, their programs have grown to provide instruction to over 50 different elementary, middle and high schools, the Travis County Juvenile Justice System, and the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. As a testament to the quality of instruction provided by the ACG, the curriculum they developed and shared is currently in use throughout the world, giving teachers the tools they need to change the lives of their students.
The Fairview is honored and proud to support the efforts of Austin Classical Guitar by hosting this house concert.
