  • Perfect Wedding Venue!

We celebrated a wedding here with a brunch for about 50 people. Everything was perfect! We booked the entire B&B and the bride and groom even stayed with the family. The owners were very helpful and accommodating and our families raved about the comfort, the food and the service. The bride got ready in the largest room and it was perfect for all of us to gather before the ceremony. The grounds are amazing and there is even space to play croquet which the kids loved. I highly recommend The Fairview!

    Beautiful B&B, great location

We stayed in the Fairview’s Blue Bonnet room for four nights in November. The room was gorgeous – spacious and full of Texan character. Hosts Jimi and Vivian were super-friendly and helpful, the breakfast was great (hello homemade French toast casserole), and the building itself was a beautiful renovated plantation-style house. It’s a safe 10 minutes walk to all the fun, shops, bars, music and tacos on South Congress. We’d 100% stay again if we returned to Austin – it’s a quintessentially Austin place to stay; unlike a lot of the chains around the ‘Dirty Sixth’.

    Fantastic for families!

We had such a wonderful time staying at the Fairview! It was my husband, myself, and our 18-month old son. He is very rambunctious, so we were overjoyed to see that they have a nice playground and lots of yard to run around in. The owners are very nice and accommodating. I accidentally booked our room for the wrong week, but I didn’t realize it until almost 9:30 at night. I called an left a message for them to call me back. I definitely didn’t expect him to call me back immediately and have it fixed before I even talked to him! Breakfast was delicious and the location is so close to SoCo. Overall a wonderful experience! Will definitely be back :)

  • Stately home with down home charm

We had a wonderful stay at The Fairview. My husband and I brought our two boys, 8 and 5, and stayed in the very spacious Live Oak Suite. The kids each had their own twin bed in the attached library and we slept in the *very comfortable* king bed. The bathroom was huge and newly renovated, with lovely appointments. We also had an attached yoga room that we used every morning for some stretching and light calisthenics with the boys. OK, we may also have shut the kids in there to play video games. There is also a playscape in the garden behind the house, so the boys had an outdoor place to play.

The breakfast featured homemade granola and yogurt with a fresh fruit salad every day. My boys (even the grown up one) were crazy for the candied ginger scones and asked for them to be repeated. The French toast casserole was also a big hit. Viv contacted me ahead of our stay to discuss my 8-year-old’s food allergies and served us a delicious menu that was peanut, tree nut and shellfish free and put my worried son at ease.

I was partial to the fabulous espresso machine and the nightly happy hour featuring local wines in front of the fireplace and great conversation with Jimi and Viv. You could not ask for more gracious hosts. They went out of their way to make sure all our needs were accommodated, gave us great advice on where to eat and Jimi even helped us carry our suitcases up the stairs!

The Fairview is right off South Congress in a great neighborhood, so it’s close to all the hotspots and easily accessible. It’s also only about 20 minutes from the airport. Such a great combination of classy, high end hotel and down home, charming B&B cannot be beat. We will be staying here again the next time we are in Austin.

Lovely Location; Accommodating Hosts; Comfortable Rooms

The Fairview is a less than 10 minute walk to the vibrant SoCo (South Congress) area of Austin known for its shopping, restaurants and nightlife. Also close by is the kid friendly Big and Little Stacy Park. A 15 minute walk gets you to hike and bike trails of lady Bird lake. By car (Zip, Uber, or your own) you are maybe 6 minutes to downtown, the bats, 6th St and Warehouse/2nd St. district for sophisticated shopping or more music and restaurants.

At The Fairview though, you will relax in lovely landscaping and a quiet grand old house decorated with a modern flair that somehow blends nicely with the polished woods. The amenities of an automatic espresso machine for lattes or decafs and mineral water as well as the breakfast available until 11(?) help to make the time away from Austin’s great urban vibe super pleasant.

The owners are knowledgeable about the area and friendly. They were great people and dog hosts.

55+ years old, Frequently stays at B&Bs - The Texas Redbud Room

  • The Fairview is perfect!!

Their amenities are comparable to a Ritz or Four Seasons. They are all the upside of a quaint and cozy B & B and all the updates of a 5 star hotel. Breakfast is wonderful and the best tasting gluten free items ever. A must!!

Room Tip: the two rooms on the front are best but the rooms on the back are also good.

  • Wonderful Experience

I don’t often stay in B&Bs, usually opting for boutique hotels, but The Fairview would make a fan of anyone. The entire, gorgeous home has been beautifully renovated and everything has been finished tastefully. This was my first stay in Austin and the owners, Jimi and Vivian, know the city very well and embody Texan grace. I hope to return again soon and The Fairview will be my go-to home to spend my next stay in this wonderful city.
